Michael A. Tardif
BRUNSWICK – Michael A. Tardif, 65, passed away peacefully at Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick, with his wife and daughter by his side.
Michael was a prominent business owner and member of the community. He was loved by all and gave back to those in need whenever possible. He and his wife, Sonya, most recently ran a vegan café in Norway, called Taste of Eden for 14 years. His passion was food and sharing healthy recipes with others gave him joy and purpose. They previously started the restaurant in Bethel as well as running another location in Lewiston (under the Little Lad’s company). Michael had an assortment of other jobs in his younger years including working at BIW, Bradco, and Country Kitchen. He was also a soundman for numerous bands and traveled around New England with them.
Michael was a nature lover; he enjoyed going for walks/hikes to explore the land, checking out plants/fungi, looking for animals, and identifying birds. His passion for nature translated into medicinal remedies for all kinds of ailments and some very interesting recipes. He could talk about food all day!
His faith in God had an influence on many. For 17 years Michael served as volunteer lay pastor for the Bethel Seventh-day Adventist Fellowship. Others loved to hear him sing and listen to his inspirational stories.
Michael is survived by his wife, Sonya Tardif, daughter, Amy Tardif, brothers/sisters: Patsy Levasseur, Sonny (Adrien) Tardif and wife Sylvia, Jerry Tardif and wife Pauline, Butch (Raymond) Tardif, Linda DiBuono and husband Richard, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at the Woodstock church on November 13, at 3 p.m., 43 Perkins Valley Road, Bryant Pond.
Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 45 Main Street, South Paris. Online condolences may be shared with his family at http://www.chandlerfunerals.com.
