“Start spreading the news, I’m available for adoption today
I used to be a part of it: New York, New York
These vagabond paws, were longing to stray
Right from the very heart of it: New York, New York”
Forgive my crooning, everyone, but I’m so happy to be out of that big city shelter, and I wanted to tell you a little of my story. It’s true, I used to be in a very crowded shelter in New York City, where most cats don’t get out alive. I had a growth on the side of my face and I heard the bosses say my number was up the next day. But then, it was a miracle, I got on a van to come to Paris, Maine, instead!
The nice folks here had my face fixed up. That growth? It was cancer but I hear it shouldn’t cause me any more problems. I’ve survived a high kill shelter and I’ve survived cancer. I’m pretty lucky. Now if I could just find a real home, it would be a dream come true. I’m eight years old, and I like people. I’m a friendly guy! I’m not a fan of other cats, though. I don’t want to live with any. Come meet me during the shelter’s open hours (Fri/Sat/Sun 12-4) or by appointment on other days. Get pre-approved by filling out the adoption application at www.responsiblepetcare.org/cats.
