100 Years Ago: 1922

After a thoro washing and scrubbing the walls and ceilings in the sheriff’s office have been repainted so that the place is spotlessly clean thruout. The improvement is marked.

50 Years Ago: 1972

(from a Journal photo) Lisbon High School will come to the aid of the American Red Cross during the Thanksgiving holiday when a blood drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday in the school library. WBLM personality Mark Persky will give away CDs. FMI, call Jaimee Kerber, blood drive coordinator or the American Red Cross at 1-800-482-0743. 25 Years Ago: 1997

Charles “Chip” Morrison, executive director of the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce, will hoist his trombone once again, to play a duet with Portland Brass Quintet trombonist Mark Manduca when the group appears at the Lewiston Middle School Saturday night. The event is sponsored by L/A Arts.
