I get what Mark LaFlamme is saying with the Lewiston-Auburn police and the scanners going silent on us (“Lewiston-Auburn police radios remain silent — for us,” Dec. 21).
My wife and I are retired and often did listen but, like he said, the Lewiston/Auburn police have been quiet the last year and a half, after $4.5 million of our tax money was spent on new police radios.
I’m assuming that’s out of the L/A tax base, and if so, why wasn’t I notified? That’s right; no one was notified, just told to pay their taxes and not worry about what our city does.
I wonder if anyone sees a pattern going here as to what our government is doing. What’s next — our guns?
