Guy Lucien Moreau

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Guy Moreau, born in Lewiston to René and Rose Moreau, died suddenly in San Francisco, Calif. on Dec. 9, 2022.

He graduated from Lewiston High School (1975) and from the University of Maine (1979). Guy had a passion for games from an early age and became a local and state chess champion. At Orono he pursued his interest in piano and history. Later in life he developed an interest in the ancient game of Go and moved to San Francisco, Calif. to develop his skills with the experts there. Outside of work he dedicated his time at the San Francisco Go Club to improving his game and motivating younger players.

He is survived by his siblings Marc Moreau and Anne Moreau Burg; his nieces and nephews Michelle, Aimée, Joseph, and Thomas who will all miss his gentle and playful soul.
