LEWISTON – Lucien N. Pelletier, 92, of Lewiston, passed away Sunday evening, Dec. 25, 2022, at d’Youville Pavilion with family at his side. He was born in St. Hilaire New Brunswick, Canada March 14, 1930, a son of Prudent and Alma (Sirois) Pelletier. Lucien was educated in Canadian schools, came to the United States at age 26 and remained a lifelong resident of the Lewiston-Auburn community. On Oct. 2, 1954, he married the former Constance Gauthier at St. Mary’s Church and together they settled in Lewiston to raise their family.
Lucien first worked in the woods of Maine as a logger, then worked several years in local textile mills. After leaving the mills, he spent many years working construction and later served many years at Holy Cross School as a Custodian until his retirement.
He was a member of Holy Cross Church and among his favorite enjoyments were good times with his family and camping at various lakes around Maine for decades.
Lucien was a loving, devoted and hardworking husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Constance Pelletier of Lewiston; his son Michael Pelletier and wife Elizabeth of Sabattus; three grandchildren Blaine Pelletier and wife Jessica, Danielle Bledsoe and husband Darrell and Matthew Pelletier; four great-grandchildren Lilly Pelletier, Elly Pelletier, Syndey Bledsoe and Ethan Pelletier; four sisters Jeanne Dube of North Carolina, Corinne Ouellette and husband Clarence of Edmundston, New Brunswick, Cora Pelletier, also of Edmundston, New Brunswick and Gaetane Nadeau and husband Gilles of St. Francois, New Brunswick; two sisters-in-law Helen Pelletier of Lewiston and Yvonne Pelletier of St. Jacques, New Brunswick; and many nieces and nephews.
Lucien was predeceased by a son Daniel Pelletier and daughter-in-law Patti, and 12 siblings Celina, Rolande, Roland, Lewis, Anita, Aldeo, Therese, Cecile, Lorraine, Alcide, George and Conrad.
Funeral Mass Holy Cross Church Friday Jan. 6, at 11 a.m., followed by committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery. At his prior request, there are no visiting hours.
