Nancy A. Piela

LISBON FALLS – Nancy A. Piela died on Jan. 4, 2023 at Clover Healthcare, Auburn.

Nancy was born Jan. 2, 1942 to Carl and Margaret Piela. She graduated from Lisbon High School in 1960.

She worked at the Worumbo Mill, but then went on to further her education by attending business school. In 1966 she became a supply clerk at the Brunswick Naval Air Station. She continued her long career as a civilian employee of the Navy with her final position being at SUPSHIP Bath in Logistics Management for over 20 years. She retired in 2014 after 48 years. She was always very proud of her work and received many recognitions over the years.

Although Nancy spent the majority of her life in Lisbon Falls, she built a home and moved to Westport Island in 2006 and then to Clover Healthcare, Auburn in 2018. In life she loved all types of music, her pets, books, and her family. She especially loved to spoil her nieces and nephews and was “Aunt Nancy” to many.

Nancy was predeceased by her parents; and infant siblings Stephen and Mary.

She is survived by her siblings John Piela of Durham, Helen Dunton of Westport Island, Carl (Jane) Piela of Lisbon Falls, Anita (John) Campbell of Harrison, Margaret Roe of South Portland; and 13 nieces/nephews and their families.

Thank you to the staff of Clover Healthcare for their care, compassion, and love in her final years. Thank you to Androscoggin Hospice for their loving care in her final days.

Services will be held at Crosman Funeral Home in Lisbon Falls on Saturday Jan. 14.

There will be a visitation at 10 a.m. with a funeral at 11 a.m. Masks required. A burial and celebration of life will be held in the spring, to be determined.
