Elaine M. Desrochers
LEWISTON – Elaine M. Desrochers, 73, of Nichols Street in Lewiston, passed away early Tuesday morning Jan. 10, 2023, at her home with family at her side.
She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 1, 1949, a daughter of the late Roger A. and Mildred E. (Ford) Desrochers and was educated in Lewiston schools. On Aug 12, 1967, she married Joseph A. Desrochers, a military veteran and they began their life together, living in several different places around the world, wherever Joe’s deployments took them as they started their family and raised their three children until 1982, when they moved back to Lewiston. Joseph predeceased her in 2009.
A short time after moving back to Lewiston, Elaine went to work for Hannaford for several years until her retirement. She enjoyed playing Bingo and was an avid reader, but was mostly a “homebody,” as she found pleasure and relaxation simply enjoying her home and the comforts it provided. Elaine was a loving, devoted and hardworking wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
She leaves behind two sons Joe Desrochers and Jeff Desrochers, both of Lewiston, one daughter Danielle Brown and husband Nick of Rochester, N.Y.; five grandchildren Chanselor Desrochers and wife Kaitlyn Rourke, Peyton Desrochers, Caleb Brown, Kaitlyn Brown, and Chalice Henry and husband John Mark; three sisters Suzie Grimsley and husband Bill of Florida, Kim Schultheis of New York and Carol Harvey and husband Billy; and several nieces and nephews. Elaine was predeceased by her parents; and husband Joseph Desrochers.
