James Earl Whiting
POLAND – It is with sadness that we announce the passing of James Earl Whiting. He was born April 16, 1945, to James and Kathleen (Mixer) Whiting. He passed on March 21, 2023, after a long illness.
Jim married Lillian (Strout) on June 20, 1980, they enjoyed 42 years together.
He served six years in the Air National Guard, he worked at Proctor and Gamble as a draftsman for over 25 years, he also was a member of the Kora Shriners Patrol.
Jim and Lill spent many years fishing and camping and snowmobiling throughout Maine and New Hampshire. One of their favorites was summers spent in Nesowadnehunk in Northern Maine. While hunting and fishing they made many friends wherever they went with a special story to share or a joke to tell.
Jim leaves behind his wife Lillian of Poland; a son Jeffrey of California, a daughter Christina Lucas and husband Dan of Florida; grandchildren Brian Rose, Heather Rose and Kaylyn Lucas; and two great-grandchildren; and his brother Robert Whiting and wife Cindy of Windom; also many nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the people who cared for him at the Rumford Community Home.
There will be a graveside service at the North Auburn Cemetery, 224 Skilling Corner Rd., Auburn, on May 24 at 1 p.m. Followed by a get together for Family and friends at the United Methodist Church in Minot.
