Theresa Roy

LEWISTON – Theresa Roy, 85, loving mother of 7 and adoring wife to pre-deceased husband George Roy passed away peacefully at home on May 17th with loved ones by her side. 

Theresa was born in 1937 in Madawaska Maine and grew up surrounded by her large family of 6 siblings. Theresa was a devoted wife and mother largely influenced by her Catholic religion. She worked at Luiggi’s Restaurant for 36 years and was well known by the community. Everyone knew Terry for her caring and giving ways. She was never seen without a smile on her face. She had a contagious laugh and found joy in all aspects of life. She gave her time to her church and was always putting everyone else before herself. 

She was loved by all who met her. 

As a mother, she was generous, loving and kind. She had the patience of a saint. She was a supportive and involved grandmother and great grandmother. Unconditional love will be the legacy she leaves for her family. She believed it to be important to always help others and stay active. She loved to explore, stay social, have family gatherings, play the slot machines, and visit new places. 

She will be greatly missed by her family and especially her children Mary Jane Roy, Dorothy Roy, Lisa Roy, Linda O’Connor, and pre-deceased children Rose Marie Roy, Michelle Roy, and Tony Roy; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren who adore her with all their hearts.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 25, from 2-4 p.m., and from 6-8 p.m, at Fortin Funeral Home, Lewiston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 26, at 1 p.m., followed by Committal Prayers at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
