CANTON — Officials are investigating a shooting Sunday night at 568 Canton Point Road that sent a person to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the 7:33 p.m. call, but the suspect or suspects had fled the scene, Sheriff Christopher Wainwright said.

The victim, who was not identified Sunday night, was reportedly shot multiple times.

Further details were not available late Sunday, Wainwright said.
