100 Years Ago: 1923
Michael J. Collins, father of four daughters and seven sons, of whom five were in the service during the world war, died Monday in Bradbury Memoria! Hospital in Belfast from injuries received two weeks ago when his horse ran away throwing him under the wheels of a heavy cart. He was born in Ireland nearly 73 years ago, coming to America at the age of four years.
50 Years Ago: 1973
A Lewiston young woman was knocked to the floor this morning by a knife-armed stranger in the hallway of the building in which she lived, but escaped serious harm when she screamed and the stranger fled.
25 Years Ago: 1998
Wanted: Consultant for a fledgling local cable access station. Experience in local access television is a must. Must also have a knack for working with volunteers, schmoozing with city officials and cable committees and raising money. Those are the qualities the Lewiston/Auburn Cable Advisory Committee’s local access subcommittee is looking for in a consultant, whose mission will be to get the Twin Cities local cable access station on the air by July 1, 1999.
