David Wilson

PORTLAND – Douglas Ryan Wilson, 51, died Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Maine Medical Center after an unexpected health event. He was born March 15, 1972 in Lewiston, the son of Betty (Trask) Wilson and Warren (Ozzie) Wilson.

He attended schools in Greenville, Turner, and Oxford Hills. He also attended Maine Job Corps and received certifications in home maintenance, plumbing and electrical. A naturally skilled carpenter, he made his living working locally and throughout New England. The last several years he has been employed by Chase Contracting LLC.

Currently he was living in South Woodstock, at the base of Mollyockett Mountain, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending evenings with a fire by the brook, listening to his favorite music.

He was a very spiritual person and enjoyed everything through song, attending many concerts, and listening to his massive album collection and YouTube. Having superb mechanical abilities, he could often be found working on family or friends vehicles just to help them out. In earlier years, he enjoyed racing in special events at Oxford Plains Speedway or simply attending as a spectator, and often watched NASCAR racing with his stepdad.

He fathered three children; a son, Kyle Wilson, and two daughters, Morgan Wilson and Lauren Wilson.

Doug is survived by his granddaughter, Kristina Wilson of Jay; daughters Morgan Wilson Burbidge and husband Maxwell, of Watertown, N.Y., and Lauren Wilson of Watertown, N.Y.; mother, Betty McLaughlin, and stepfather, Michael of Norway; brothers Joseph Bailey and wife Heather of Lisbon Falls, Dale Chase and wife Maranda of Auburn, Andrew Bailey of Norway, Tyler McLaughlin and fiance Mariah Sewall of South Paris; father, Warren (Ozzie) Wilson and stepmother, Marlene of Greenville; brother, Brian Wilson and his wife Nikki of Arvada, Colo., sisters Julie Clough and husband Stanton of Greenville, and Emma Wilson of Greenville. He is also survived by nine aunts and uncles; 12 nieces and nephews; many cousins; and extended families. He will be sadly missed by his best friend, Kelly Blake of South Paris and his many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kyle Wilson; maternal grandparents William “Bud” and Ann Trask; uncle, Fenton Damon; paternal grandparents Delwin and Burna Wilson; uncle, Jack Roberts, and aunt, Sylvia Tutko.
