BETHEL — The Bethel Library will offer the following events in August:

•  August 5: Summer Reading Participation Party

The Gem and BAAM are hosting the Summer Reading Party! Prizes, Music, Pizza, and Crafts! @ Gem Theater, 10 a.m. -12 p.m.

•  August 8: Maine Mineral & Gem Museum Experience

Staff from the Museum will be reading “How the Meteorite Got to the Museum” & participants will have the chance to hold the Moon & Mars @ Bethel Library, 12:30 p.m.

•  August 14: Bird Appreciation in Bethel with Bethel Adventure Tours

What’s going on with birds in Bethel in late summer? We will talk about post-nesting activities, early migration, the annual loon count, bird irruptions, Indigo Buntings, and more! Time permitting we will dig more into the EBird app (please load it on your phone, it’s free!) @ Bethel Library, 9:30 a.m.

•  August 25: NDEC Class: Applying for the Affordable Connectivity Program

The Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC program that was put in place to help low-income families pay for the cost of connecting to broadband internet access. In this class, we will look at qualifying for and applying for the benefit, and what you can expect from Internet Service Providers. Registration is required @ Bethel Library, 10-11 a.m.
