I completely agree with Liz Henry’s in-rebuttal response to Dan Bilodeau, published Aug. 22.

Also, in the SJ that day was the announcement that Mayor Jason Levesque is seeking a fourth term, checking off what he considers his accomplishments. He appears to have no awareness that his efforts to fill Auburn with multi-unit housing while ignoring infrastructure issues like transportation are opposed by many.

Also, he stated that tax rates were kept “flat or significantly lower than historically high inflation.” I’m not sure that most people can readily compare their property taxes and inflation, but our property taxes went up nearly $700 in one year, the biggest increase in our 30 years of homeownership in Auburn.

The mayor said that he “struggled” with the decision to run again but believes that if he isn’t reelected it “would be devastating to our future prosperity.”

This sounds more like overblown self-importance than progressive leadership.
