“Solar Science: Scientific Equipment”

This science event is in anticipation of the Partial Eclipse that will be visible October 14th and Rangeley’s Shadows of the Sun Festival (April 5-8, 2024).

The event includes a chance to look at the sun through a solar telescope and other equipment often used to view solar eclipses. Come get your questions answered before the big event!

The Rangeley Public Library will be passing out certified solar eclipse glasses at this event and demonstrating other at home viewing methods. We encourage participants to bring in old viewing glasses for testing before use.

Fun for all ages! Open to public, walk-ins welcome.
