PARIS —The Seneca Club, Friends’ Group of the Paris Public Library, is again holding a calendar raffle of Longaberger Baskets from the extensive collection of Karen Ellis. The calendar raffle entries are for sale in October, at $10 each, with a basket being won each day in November.

The calendar raffle entries can be purchased at the Paris Public Library’s circulation desk. Proceeds from the sale will go towards preparing the library’s building for its 100th anniversary in 2026.

Karen Ellis served for several years on the library’s Board of Trustees and helped resurrect the Seneca Club to assist the Paris Public Library’s collection and services. When she passed away, her family donated her Longaberger Basket collection, consisting of several hundred baskets, to the Club to be used in its mission. She was an accomplished weaver of baskets herself.
