I write in support of Carl Sheline for mayor of Lewiston.

His support of all kinds of events in the city is phenomenal, which makes a huge difference to the morale of community members who put on these events.

He is trying in good faith to improve the situation for the increasing number of unhoused people downtown, which is something everyone should agree needs to be done, and in as comprehensive and humane way as possible.

I believe Carl’s efforts to engage the various downtown communities in a proactive effort to think constructively about public safety are evidence of both a concern for the issue and a deeply democratic way of going about it.

Carl has my enthusiastic support.
