I’m a 71-year-old resident of Lewiston. I’ve paid property taxes in Lewiston for 40 years.

Lewiston begged the Legislature to stop the property tax freeze. One councilor said right on TV that those who have been in their homes for a long time are in for a shock in their taxes.

We need to take care of our elderly in Lewiston so that they can stay in their homes.

I don’t care to see any returning councilors. Seven new councilors, a new mayor, and new administrators would benefit us taxpayers.

They are supposed to work for us, not ignore us.
