Michael Roy from the Preble Street Resource Center in Portland grabs a box of winter coats Wednesday at Veterans Memorial Park in Lewiston for homeless people served by his organization. Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation donated 750 winter coats and over a ton of nonperishable food. Over 10 organizations from around the region that work with homeless people were invited to pick up the coats. In the background, Auburn City Councilor Leroy Walker helps with the effort. Ocean State is committed to donating 55,000 winter coats across the nine states where they have stores. Andree Kehn/Sun Journal
