Westbrook police received a 911 call asking for help at an apartment at 79 Mechanic St. at about 1:38 a.m. Tuesday, Moss said. Responding officers found a dead man in the apartment and deemed the death suspicious. Anyone who has information about the case is asked to call the Maine State Police at 207-624-7076.
On Nov. 21, Maine State Police arrested Robert McClure, 71, and charged him with murder in the death of a woman at a senior housing development in Topsham called River Landing. Police identified the victim as Christine Miller, 64. Police said her death was caused by “sharp force injuries.” McClure and Miller lived in the complex.
On Sunday, Tzara Jones, 53, of Denmark, was arrested and charged with two counts of murder after she allegedly used a butcher knife to stab Michael Willett, 69, of Denmark, and Aremean Mayo, 93, multiple times at the home they shared in the Oxford County town of Denmark. Mayo was Jones’ grandmother. Jones had been in a relationship with Willett. Authorities described Jones as the victims’ caretaker.
Lorenze A. Labonte, 25, of Saco, was arrested Monday night by Maine State Police and charged with murder in the shooting death of Ahmed Sharif, 27, of Lewiston. in Biddeford on Friday.
On Monday, Maine State Police said they believe that 50-year-old Lance Lucas shot and killed his former domestic partner, 50-year-old Amy Nickerson in Searsmont, before committing suicide. Lucas and Nickerson both died of gunshot wounds. Police are calling it a murder-suicide.
