Edna Philbrick

CANTON – Edna Philbrick, 95, a former resident of Peru, passed away on Dec. 3, 2023 at Pinnacle Heath and Rehab.

Born in Peru on June 16, 1928, Edna was the daughter of Alphonse and Clemintine (Crockett) Walker. She was a graduate of Stephens High School and later worked in the cafeteria at Mexico Junior High School. She was a member of the Mexico Historical Society and the Worthley Pond Association.

Edna married Marshall Philbrick on April 26, 1956 and together they raised a loving family. Edna spent summers at Worthley Pond. She had a large vegetable garden as well as a raspberry patch – which provided fresh jam all year long. When Edna wasn’t in the garden, you would find her swimming in the pond (multiple times a day), or making biscuits for strawberry shortcake, or drinking tea while reading the paper.

Surviving relatives include her son, Bernard “Ben” Philbrick and wife Karen, of Bethlehem, N.H.; and nephew, Edward Walker and wife Gail, of Belmont, Calif.

She was predeceased by her husband, Marshall; and son, Douglas.

Funeral services will be held in the spring and will be announced in the paper. Arrangements are under the direction of Meader and Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.

Friends and family are invited to go online and share memories with the family at http://www.meaderandson.com
