BETHEL — The Maine Ski and Snowboard Museum plans to celebrates with Carter’s Cross Country the history of Nordic skiing during Wooden Ski Day.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at Norway Brewing Company, 786 Intervale Road.

This is a family- and dog-friendly event. All skis and skiers are welcome, according to a news release from the museum.

Glenn Parkinson, ski historian from the museum, will share his knowledge of Nordic skiing. People can bring ski artifacts to learn more.

The museum will have three pair of wooden skis with leather toe loops and a single pole at the event. Two of the skis were made by nearby Paris Manufacturing in South Paris.

Three people will be able to ski on these century-old skis in the Vintage & Retro Nordic Ski Costume Parade at 1 p.m.

The Singepole Trio Band will perform at 2 p.m.
