DENMARK — Five people were rescued Saturday evening from the southerly waters of Moose Pond.

Denmark fire-rescue crews and United Ambulance Service were called to 49 Hummingbird Lane area where five people fell through the ice on Moose Pond, according to Brandon Simms of Oxford County Regional Communications Center.

All members of the party were removed from the water in hypothermic, but non-life-threatening states, and were being evaluated on the scene, Simms said.

Alerts put the party about 100 feet from a dock during the rescue.
