John A. Wade
FARMINGTON – John A. Wade, 89, a lifelong resident of Livermore Falls, passed away Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Home in Farmington, with his family by his side.
He was born Oct. 31, 1934, in Livermore Falls, the son of Leander and Marion (Wyman) Wade. John was a 1953 graduate of Livermore Falls High School.
He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958 in New Mexico. On February 26, 1965, in Livermore Falls, he married his wife of nearly 59 years, Paula Parker. John worked for International Paper Company in the shipping department until his retirement in 1990.
He was a former member of the United Methodist Church, later becoming a member of the First Baptist Church of Livermore Falls, serving many years as a trustee. He was also a member of the International Paper Company Quarter Century Club and a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 524 for several years.
John loved camping and spent summers with his wife, dog, and cat at Winslow State Park, where he served as park ranger. He will be remembered as witty, quiet, slow to moderate and private.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Wade of Livermore Falls; daughters Rebecca Nazar and husband Matt of Readfield, and Kathy Despres and husband Scott of Fayette, his son, David Wade and wife Erino of San Franciso, Calif.; five granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
He was predeceased by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 10 at the First Baptist Church of Livermore Falls, 25 Church St., Livermore Falls. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the funeral service. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Route 2, Farmington.
