DEAR SUN SPOTS: Regarding the Feb. 20 Sun Spots, I am no expert in Somali cuisine, but I do live on Lisbon Street in Lewiston and have noticed, and recently enjoyed eating at, three establishments located very near each other on lower Lisbon Street: Sabans Cuisine, Naima Restaurant, and Heritage Restaurant.

Also on lower Lisbon Street are to-go lunch options such as Baraka Store and Mogadishu Store. Perhaps other stores serve lunch, too? I hope someone can tell you if they do.

You apparently already know about the Isuken food truck, as you mentioned it in your column

Several folks run catering businesses, too, but I don’t know how to get in touch with them. Perhaps you will receive an inside scoop from someone in the Somali community.

Please note that AfroTaste Resto Bar & Lounge on Main Street is not Somali. They do not serve food from the Horn of Africa, but rather from [Sub-Saharan] Central and East Africa, items from Rwanda, Congo, Uganda, Kenya, etc. It serves food, yes, but it is more of a dance club than anything else. Things change all the time so I may have missed something! — Elizabeth, Lewiston

Sabans Cuisine is at 270 Lisbon St., Naima Restaurant is at 249 Lisbon St., and Heritage Restaurant is at 265 Lisbon St. I’m looking forward to trying them all.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m looking for a good Georgian restaurant or at least a place that sells Khachapuri (Georgian cheese bread). The closest place I’ve been able to find is in Boston and am willing to travel anywhere in between.

I haven’t had luck Googling places, but I’m crossing my fingers someone out there knows about a little hole in the wall type of place that I may be missing! It’s an all-time favorite cuisine of my boyfriend’s and mine. — Abby, no town

ANSWER: I hope someone knows of a good place! I’ve never had the opportunity to taste it, but it sounds delicious. Georgian cuisine “tells a gastronomic account of the intertwined cultural influences that were carried between Europe, the Middle East, and Western Asia along the Silk Road trade routes.” The cuisine is based on the contrast between spicy and hot.
