“Transparency” refers to light passing through, allowing an object to be clearly seen. If there’s something the government is generally lacking, it’s transparency, which is why I am especially grateful for Rep. Laurel Libby.
When government officials try to sneak bills and laws through, Rep. Libby goes out of her way to shed light on and notify the people of what is happening within the chambers of the People’s House.
Whether we realize it or not, the laws being passed affect us all one way or another. Do others, like me, want to know what’s happening from a trusted source? This is why I follow Rep. Libby on Facebook and receive her emails.
She takes time to inform us because she is one of us. A Mainer through and through who believes transparency is a huge part of her job in representing the people of her district.
People like me.
