100 Years Ago: 1924

Mrs. Elmina H. Royal, a graduate of the class of 1848, and grandmother of Prof. Hutchins, of the school faculty, was one of the speakers of the annual reunion of the Kents’ Hill Academy alumni in Portland Wednesday night.

50 Years Ago: 1974

The annual Charity Ball sponsored by the Gardner General Hospital Women’s Board will be held Saturday, March 30 in the Gardner State Armory.

Scenes of ice cutting on the Kennebec River, old main roads and apparel of the 18th century have been painted as murals by Mrs. George W. Heselton and Mrs. Edward T. Richards. Other decorations are being prepared in weekly workshops under the direction of Mrs. William F. Ford and Mrs. Richard Hachey, chairmen.

25 Years Ago: 1999

Planning is underway for the 1999 Business Trade Show at the Great Falls Balloon Festival, to be held Aug. 20-22.

Applications are being accepted for businesses interested in displaying their goods and services. Space is limited, so interested businesses should contact Susan Bunker.
