The 11th annual Geiger Bros./Montello School Author’s Night will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Wednesday, April 28 at the Lewiston Middle School.
Activities get under way when students arrive by stretch limousine at the door and are met by a version of “the media.”
The “Night of Stars” theme is subtitled “The Force is Within You.” Seventy-two students, kindergarten through six, will be recognized as authors or illustrators in this Academy Award-style affair.
As part of their Adopt-A-School partnership, Geiger Bros., and Montello collaborate on an anthology of student works. Geiger produces and prints the 32-page booklet containing stories and drawings by Montello Elementary School students selected by teachers and members of Geiger Bros. Adopt-A-School Committee.
Geiger Bros. Associates and Montello staff, posing as members of the “press,” autograph hounds and adoring fans, will attend along with students, families, Montello staff and the public. Tuxedoed host Peter Geiger and Gus LeBlanc will present each student with an “Oscar,” along with a guest appearance by Darth Vadar, 3CPO and Yoda.
The evening will also provide an opportunity to recognize Montello teachers for their role in creating the anthology.
The material used in Looking Back is produced exactly as it originally appeared although misspellings and errors may be corrected.
