PITTSFIELD — Sebasticook Valley Federal Credit Union announced President James Lemieux has been awarded the Delmar Doody Award for his outstanding contributions to the business community.

The award is presented annually by the Sebasticook Valley Chamber of Commerce as part of its annual awards program, which aims to highlight community commitment, impacts on local issues or needs, leadership, innovation, and active citizenship within the Sebasticook Valley Region, according to a news release.

A panel of community leaders with extensive volunteerism and service experience selected Lemieux. The panel reviewed submissions and recognized Lemieux for his longstanding membership, significant contributions to the chamber’s goals, and support for the Sebasticook Valley community.

“I am honored to receive the Delmar Doody Award,” Lemieux said in the release. “This recognition demonstrates the importance of being actively engaged in the community to encourage positive change, something that Sebasticook Valley Federal Credit Union is also deeply committed to.”

The award recognizes chamber members or representatives who have been actively involved for at least five years, demonstrated substantial contributions to the chamber’s goals, and consistently participated in chamber activities and events. It embodies the spirit of Doody’s vision for a vibrant and supportive business community in the Sebasticook Valley.

The award was presented at the Sebasticook Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards ceremony April 18.
