Spending is out of control. Gov. Janet Mills tells her own party to “show fiscal restraint.” She was ignored.
The Legislature responded by approving 80 additional bills, another $10 million. Mills also panned a last-minute attempt by her fellow Democrats for an additional $100 million (“Gov. Mills slams lawmakers for advancing more spending bills,” May 9).
Maine now ranks in the top 10 for taxing its citizens.
Isn’t it time to send adults to Augusta? Representatives who spend wisely? I am all for helping people and passing responsible legislation, but the way it is going, if allowed, Democrats will bankrupt all of us.
House District 96 has a candidate with a record of spending wisely. Kerryl Lee Clement is a retired law enforcement officer. Lee has been a responsible public servant. He would certainly help the governor restrain the spenders of her own party.
Those in District 96 can make a difference, and vote for Clement.
