Stephen R. Day

NORWAY – Stephen R. Day, 79, of Otisfield, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Stephens Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Brownfield on Dec. 31, 1944, the son of Ralph C. and Ola L. Adams Day.

Stephen married Charlene Korhonen in November of 1969. He held many jobs over the years, the highlight was the family farm. He enjoyed working the ground, making fields, splitting wood, trading tractors and going to auctions.

Stephen is survived by his wife Charlene of Otisfield; sons Ralph and Sewell (Meredith) all of Otisfield, daughter Marsha Curtis (Fred) of Greenwood; grandchildren Anna Brett, Lindsay Day, Levi Brett, Logan Day, Tyler Day, Madison Day, Devin Day and Allyson Day; great grandchildren Maverick Brett and Adalynn Webster, River and Dean Croy, Lucy Day and another one on the way; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; sister Eleanor Vining; sons Robert and Kelby Day.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Stuart’s Corner Cemetery in Harrison. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris. Online condolences may be shared with his family at http://www.chandlerfunerals.com.
