Tim Jacobs reattaches a wreath Sunday to a replica of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Lowe’s in Auburn. The United States Navy veteran is a millwork specialist at the store, where he has worked for 19 years. Jeff Frank, an employee who builds displays inside the store, built the replica by hand. Jacobs says this is the second year the replica of the tomb has been placed in the store’s parking lot to mark Memorial Day. In the photo above, the wreath had fallen off so Jacobs came out to fix it. “I could not stand to see it laying on the ground,” Jacobs says. Daryn Slover/Sun Journal
