A concert by Maine fiddler Frank Ferrel and Nova Scotia pianist Kimberly Holmes will be held beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday June 1, at Trinity Commons in Lewiston.

Ferrel is regarded as one of the northeast’s finest fiddlers. He has contributed to more than two dozen albums, toured Scotland as a featured performer with the acclaimed Celtic group The Boys of the Lough, and appeared as a regular featured guest on the NPR radio program “A Prairie Home Companion.” His repertoire includes the full range of fiddle music from the Anglo, Celtic, and French traditions of New England and the Maritimes. He is a member of the North American Fiddlers’ Hall of Fame.

Holmes, hails from Carrolls Corner, Nova Scotia, and is one of the most in-demand piano accompanists in Canada. Kimberley Holmes, a native of Carrolls Corner, Nova Scotia is an East Coast Music Award nominee and one of Canada‘s premier piano accompanists in the traditional style of fiddling. An accomplished fiddler herself, she has also won many awards for fiddling, both in solo and group classes. She is past Artistic Director of the Maritime Fiddle Festival. In 2019, Kimberley was inducted into the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame and is a member of the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Association.

Concert promoter Greg Boardman is “thrilled to be bringing such fine musicians to fill the acoustically beautiful space of Trinity Commons with some of the best fiddling and piano accompaniment heard anywhere.”

Admission to the concert is $10; $5 for teens; 12 and under free. Tickets are available at the door. Trinity Commons is located at 247 Bates St, Lewiston.
