LEWISTON – Alfred L. Roberge, 84, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2024, at the Androscoggin Hospice House, with his wife, Connie, and his family by his side.

He was born on Feb. 29, 1940, to the late Alfred and Rose Roberge in Lewiston, Maine. His siblings include Raymond Roberge and the late Fern Roberge.

Al was educated in Lewiston and attended St. Dominic High School. He retired after working 40 dedicated years at Country Kitchen Bakery (“Big Al”) on Park Street in Lewiston. After retirement, he also enjoyed working seasonally at L.L. Bean in Freeport packing holiday orders.

Al loved vacationing in Wells, playing games on the beach, watching Red Sox baseball and Boston Bruins hockey, playing cribbage, bowling, dancing, and spending time around the pool with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his retirement years, he loved running errands, making trips to BJ’s Wholesale Club, and stocking up the cellar to ensure that he and Connie never ran out of supplies.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Connie Roberge of Lewiston; his daughters, Sue Melanson (Craig) of Lewiston, Sandra Fogg (Kevin) of Turner, and his son Michael Roberge (Paula) of Sabattus; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren include Jason Melanson (Amy Ward) and their children Karson, Emma and Mason, Beth Benzle (Lauren) and their children Clara and Everett, Mitchel Roberge (Kristin), Mariah Sicard (Alex), Hannah Fogg, Becca Fogg (Jordan Peters), Emma Fogg, Alyson Daniels (Eric) and their children Colton and Levi, and Kasey Reinhard (Bob).

Services will be private. In honor of our dad, “Big Al”, the family wishes you get together with loved ones, share a Mic Ultra or a Moxie, play some cribbage and have some laughs.
