The two biggest mistakes the residents of Lewiston/Auburn can make this year are the failure to vote, and to vote for big-money funded Republicans in local, state and federal elections.

Two big reasons that directly effect each of us. First, billionaires like Mount Desert Republican billionaire Leonard Leo is investing millions in state elections to make permanent the massive tax cuts the Trump administration gave him and corporations.

The tax cuts did not create new jobs, but just ballooned the federal debt and shifted it for payment on the rest of us.

To pay for the increased debt, Republicans plan tax cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and other health care benefits many rely on to survive.

In summary, we cannot sit on our hands and hope things will get better. We need to register to vote and support clean election candidates to ward off the right-wing Republican billionaires.
