DEAR SUN SPOTS: Is baking your passion? Want to make a difference in the lives of feral cats? Organizers of Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends 4th of July Bake Sale & Bottle Drive are looking for bakers and baked goods. The event will take place at Family Dollar, 11 Middle Road, Sabattus, on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It would be great if we also had bakers who would like to prepare some sugar-free and gluten-free treats.
Join us in helping make this 4th of July weekend event a memorable one for Tommy’s babies. Your baked goods, bottles and cans, and donations will go a long way toward helping us continue to support the forgotten feral cat colonies that cross our paths every day. They need food, warmth, veterinarian care, and so much more.
With your help and support, we can continue this crucial mission every day. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Donations are always appreciated and can be sent to Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends, P.O. Box 274, Greene, ME 04236 or go to https://www.tommysferalfelinefriends.com/ . For more information, please contact Tommy’s team at [email protected]. –Melanie, no town
DEAR SUN SPOTS: This is one last reminder about the 7-Mile Yard Sale hosted by The Heywood Club. The event will take place on Crockett Ridge in Norway on Saturday.
This is always a favorite event in the area. Not only do we have a yard sale at the clubhouse, but many neighbors join in and have a sale at their homes. The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon at the clubhouse but there will be many other yard sales in the neighborhood that go all day long. This is your chance to pick up those items you have been looking for.
We are also looking for good clean, small items to sell at the clubhouse if you would like to donate something. We do not accept books, large furniture or appliances, clothing, or electronics.
Donations can be left on the front porch of the club house. For more information, call Barbara Townsend at 890-2103 or Beth Abbott at 461-2334. — No name, no town
ANSWER: I’m sure everyone in Norway and beyond is looking forward to the big event. I’m sure it will be a big success!
