TURNER — Fire Chief Nick Merry said he and members of his department watched Monday afternoon as a motorcycle entering Route 4 from Howes Corner Road was struck by a vehicle.

Merry said they were stopped in traffic around 4:30 p.m. on Route 4 at the four-way intersection with Howes Corner and Bear Pond roads and immediately sprang into action.

The motorcyclist and his passenger were transported to a local hospital, he said.

No one else was hurt, he said.

Route 4 was reduced to a single lane and Livermore Fire Rescue assisted Turner with traffic control.

Merry said crews were then called to set up a landing zone for NorthStar and LifeFlight for a motorcycle crash in Chesterville. Shortly after that, crews were sent to assist at a motorcycle crash in Greene. Details of those crashes were not immediately available.
