A Casco man died at Maine Medical Center on Tuesday, a day after he crashed his motorcycle on Meadow Road.

Nicholas Murdock, 35, was driving east in Casco on Monday afternoon when he took a corner near 696 Meadow Road and lost control of his 2014 Harley-Davidson, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said.

Murdock hit a mailbox and a guardrail. He was taken by LifeFlight to the Portland hospital, where he later died, the sheriff’s office said.

Murdock was wearing a helmet. Authorities said they believe speed was a factor in the crash.
