“Music for Mavis” Tuesdays at the Gazebo music series presents The Strangely Possibles from 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, at the gazebo in Turner.

Six prominent, deeply-accomplished, Portland-based musicians play a sophisticated blend of “funky psychedelic,” joyfully-inspired original tunes and capture the free, wide-open spirit of musical wanderlust. This body of musical talent delivers a sweeping panorama of instrumental prowess encompassing authentic West African percussion, slick vocal harmonies, flute, blues harp, and violin as well as the basic essentials of drums, keys, bass and dual guitars. Every set is filled with driving energy and includes recognizable covers by the Rolling Stones, the Grateful Dead, and The Rascals that complement The Strangely Possibles’ own works.

The show will go on rain or shine. Bring a chair, a blanket, and a friend. We pass the hat to pay the musicians. Suggested donation $10.
