DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Edward Little High School Class of 1956 Reunion Committee is planning its 68th year reunion on Aug. 29.
We have reached out to as many classmates as we could, but some people may not have received the letter we mailed because of a wrong address.
The committee is planning to retire after this reunion so let’s have a great turnout! If you have any questions and would like to attend, call me at 312-5405 and leave a message. — Betty, no town
ANSWER: This is just awesome. I love that you are still getting together. As the event gets closer, let me know the details of the time and place so I can remind everyone who wants to come.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: The second season of the Turner Farmers Market has begun. Join us every Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. at 442 Turner Center Road in Turner through the end of August.
Each week, you’ll find over 15 local vendors offering an array of locally grown and produced goods, including fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers, plants, meats, canned goods, specialty foods, dairy products, baked goods, crafts, and more. Enjoy delicious bites from our featured food truck and bring the kids for free craft and activities. We invite you to come and experience Turner’s special community atmosphere and support your neighbors. — Madison, Turner
ANSWER: This is a lovely market with such a feel-good vibe. The town is so fortunate to have this fine group of farmers and makers. Be sure to get over there at least once this summer!
DEAR SUN SPOTS: There will be free concerts in the park sponsored by the American Legion Post 112 at 169 King St. in Oxford this summer every other Tuesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
On July 9, we’ll host Ultimate Country 2, and on July 23, Ed Millet & Friends will entertain us.
In case of rain, the music will be inside. — Howie, Oxford
ANSWER: Thank you for all the work you do for the community, Howie! I’m sure it’s much appreciated.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Is there a website where I can find a listing of all the agricultural fairs happening in the state this summer? I have relatives coming from Kansas staying with us for four weeks spanning the end of July through mid-August and they are really into that type of thing. I was remembering that these events only happen in the fall. — Kris, no town
ANSWER: There are several agricultural fairs happening throughout July and August. The full list is here: https://www.maine.gov/dacf/ard/events/fairs/index.shtml.
As I look at the list, one of the best opportunities for your company is to send them off to the Bangor State Fair that happens July 25-Aug. 3.
I just have to add—company for four weeks? I hope you all really like one another…bless you!
