PORTLAND — Ten volunteers who work with Catholic Charities Maine have been recognized with Maine Roll of Honor awards sponsored by Volunteer Maine and Gov. Janet Mill’s office.
Among them are Anne Skelton of Auburn, who devoted 1,072 hours to CCM’s Seek Elderly Alone Renew Courage & Hope (SEARCH) program, which matches seniors with volunteers who can provide rides, visits, companionship, and community support.
Lorraine Barre of Rumford and Barbara Hughes of Lewiston both contributed 1,440 to knitting items for the SEARCH program.
Mikayla Tarr of Gray contributed 577.25 hours knitting and crocheting items for Catholic Charities Maine’s Wall of Warmth event, which provide free winter items to Portland area people, free of charge.
