Please consider supporting our efforts so we can continue to give back to the amazing Lisbon community. — Erica, no town

ANSWER: I hope it’s the best Moxie Festival ever!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: You are always so helpful. What has happened to the regular Luann comic strip? The illustrations are not the same. I like the old Luann better. Why is it different? — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: According to https://www.dailycartoonist.com/, there is a temporary artist, Jay Fosgitt, illustrating the comic strip while creator Greg Evans and his daughter Karen take a break. There was an explanation that Fosgitt was assigned to do art for character Toni’s twelve-day “dream sequence.” Fans of Luann are hating it, so you’re not alone! Everything should be back to normal now or will be by next week.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have so many greeting cards from loved ones and friends. It’s  time to pass on the front of the cards to someone or a group who could use them for arts and crafts. Do you or your readers know who would like them? My number is 576-7848. — Mary, no town

ANSWER: These cards are great collage material if anyone in Sun Spots Land is interested. I was at a summer cottage recently where the walls of a little alcove inside the home was completed papered with greeting cards from the couple’s wedding. They had used a clear resin over the art and it looked really cool. I have also seen a tabletop done with the same technique. I love collage!

You can also use these card fronts for gift tags, book marks, and new greeting cards to resend. Or make something called a “junk journal” where you used odds and ends of scrap paper to create a new journal for writing down your thoughts. Using glue, staples, or a hole punch and string, you can create an original, serviceable work of art.

For all of you who have kids looking for something to do this summer, perhaps they’d be interested in having these cards to cut/glue/experiment with.

Now that I’ve got you all thinking, who’s going to be first to contact Mary?
