07/06/2024 0005hrs, Sgt. Sholan received a 911 call at a residence on Main Street in New Sharon. This was an accidental dial.
0023hrs, Deputy Maccione received a complaint of a suspicious person at the end of Main Street in New Sharon. He identified the person and inquired why he was at the end that time of night. Nothing suspicious.
0904hrs, Deputy Morgan received a child custody complaint at a residence on the Paul Road in Chesterville. This was a civil issue.
1033hrs, Deputy Gray received a 911 call at a residence on South Shore Driver in Rangeley Plt. This was an accidental dial.
0938hrs, Deputy Gray received a 911 call from Oquossoc Marine in Rangeley. This was an accidental dial.
1135hrs, Deputy Elmes received a request for a welfare check to be conducted at the apartments on School Street in Rangeley. The person to be checked was located and found to be okay.
1340hrs, Deputy Couture responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Varnum Pond Road in Temple. No charges were filed, verbal only.
1402hrs, Deputy Morgan received a complaint of a prohibited person firing a weapon on the Swan Road in New Sharon.
1623hrs, Deputy Wacome investigated a threatening complaint at a residence on Main Street in Strong.
1701hrs, Deputy Maccione investigated a threatening complaint at a residence on the Adams Road in Chesterville.
1908hrs, Deputy Elmes assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle on Route 4 in Sandy River Plt.
2024hrs, Deputy Elmes responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Park Street in Phillips. No charges were filed.
2123hrs, Deputy Maccione and Deputy Wacome responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on the Paul Road in Chesterville
2210hrs, Deputy Wacome responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on the Intervale Road in Temple. This turned out to be verbal only, participants were intoxicated.
2252hrs, Deputy Elmes received a complaint of shots or fireworks going off on Dallas Hill Road in Dallas Plt. He was unable to locate the source of the complaint.
2307hrs, Deputy Elmes received a 911 call from a camp somewhere on Verrill Terrace in Rangeley. The caller was very intoxicated but okay.
07/07/2024 0228hrs, Sgt. Close received a complaint of someone spraying chemicals at the complainant’s home on True Hill Road in Strong. This is an ongoing complaint from a person who suffers from dementia.
0951hrs, Deputy Morgan responded to a complaint of a tree on power lines on the Ridge Road in Chesterville.
1051hrs, Deputy Morgan received a request for a welfare check to be conducted at a residence on the Dixfield Road in Weld. The person to be checked was located and found to be okay.
1207hrs, Sgt. Close documented a parking lot accident involving a tractor trailer at Poland Springs in Kingfield.
1214hrs, Deputy Morgan conducted a traffic stop on the Carthage Road in Carthage. As a result of the stop Tressa Meyer (32) of Wilton was charged with Operating with a Suspended Registration.
1237hrs, Deputy Morgan responded to a report of a single vehicle accident on the Salem Road in Freeman Twp. Jillian Maciver (30) of Kingfield was driving a 2017 Mercedes when she drifted off the road into a ditch. Non reportable damage.
1239hrs, Sgt. Close received a 911 call at a residence on the Starks Road in New Sharon. This was an accidental dial.
1551hrs, Deputy Elmes responded to a parking complaint on the Salem Road in Phillips.
1719hrs, Deputy Maccione assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle on the Farmington Falls Road in New Sharon.
1908hrs, Deputy Maccione received a complaint of a suspicious person at a camp on William’s Lane in Weld. This turned out to be a family member and possibly a civil issue.
2346hrs, Deputy Elmes responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Main Street in Rangeley. This was verbal only; no charges were filed. Elmes was assisted by Border Patrol.
07/08/2024 0006hrs, Deputy Elmes responded to a car vs. moose accident on Alder Stream Road in Jim Pond Twp. Daniel Zamarripa (31) of Eustis was driving a 2019 Nissan Frontier northbound when the collision occurred.
0827hrs, Deputy Gray received a request for a welfare check to be conducted at a residence on Main Street in Rangeley. The person to be checked was located and found to be okay, but just having phone issues.
1027hrs, Deputy Brann received a theft of a purse from a vehicle complaint at a residence on the Intervale Road in Temple.
1213hrs, Deputy Brann received a 911 call where dispatch was unable to locate the source of the call.
1223hrs, Deputy Brann received a request for a welfare check at Valley Brook Village in Strong. The person to be checked was located and found to be okay.
1305hrs, Sgt. Sholan received a 911 call at a residence on Cape Cod Hill Road in New Sharon. This was an accidental dial.
1526hrs, Deputy Morgan conducted a search warrant at a residence on the Swan Road in New Sharon. As a result of the investigation Gerald McGlamery (65) of New Sharon was arrested for Illegal Possession of a Firearm.
1534hrs, Deputy Clement investigated a gas drive off complaint at the Looney Bin in Rangeley. The identity of the person who drove off without paying was obtained and he was contacted. The person advised they would pay what they owed.
1846hrs, Deputy Clement received a complaint of a lost cell phone on Route 27 in Coplin Plt. The caller called back to report he had located the phone. No complaint.
1918hrs, Sgt. Sholan responded to a disturbance call at a residence on the Weld Road in Washington Twp. A juvenile male there was being violent to family.
07/09/2024 0418hrs, Chief Lowell responded to a residential alarm on Kendall Farm Trail in Rangeley. This was a false alarm.
0923hrs, Deputy Brann investigated what turned out to be a landlord/tenant issue at an apartment on Hillside Drive in New Vineyard.
1100hrs, Sgt. Close received a missing person complaint in Rangeley. After a couple of hours of making inquiries as to the whereabouts of the missing person it was reported that the subject had been located.
1207hrs, Deputy Couture investigated a trespassing complaint on Bemis Road in Rangeley Plt.
1304hrs, Deputy Couture received a 911 call at a residence on Conifer Road in Rangeley. This was an accidental dial.
1436hrs, Deputy Brann received a complaint of a person being poisoned at a residence on True Hill Road in Strong. This is an ongoing situation where a patient who suffers from dementia believes these activities are occurring.
1513hrs, Deputy Brann investigated a phone scam where someone called the complainant on Brown Road in Weld and pretended to be from the VA and wanted to sell medical care voucher credits.
1621hrs, Deputy Maccione received a 911 call at a residence on Zions Hill Road in Chesterville. This was an accidental dial.
1737hrs, Deputy Clement responded to a medical emergency on School Street in Eustis.
1811hrs, Deputy Maccione responded to a report of a possible disturbance at a residence on Taylor Hill Road in Strong. The couple there were not forthcoming with information, no crime was identified.
2002hrs, Deputy Maccione received a complaint of a possible missing person from Camp Kawanhee in Weld. Michael Altmier (75) of New Sharon was expected to give a presentation at Camp Kawanhee in Weld however he never showed. A county-wide search was begun, checking all the common places where Michael was known to habituate. The search was extended to include Oxford County after an emergency geo-location request was made on his cell phone. His cell phone carrier reported that the last geo-location of his phone was approximately 10 miles from a cell tower in Woodstock. A Be On the Look Out (BOLO) was issued on Michael and his vehicle. Local and county law enforcement made extensive efforts to locate him. Due to medical concerns, a state-wide notification was sent to all law enforcement agencies to locate Michael. Wednesday and Thursday, Deputies continued to search for Michael’s vehicle.
Thursday night Michael’s vehicle was reported as a suspicious vehicle by Mt. Blue State Park staff. Members of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, including Sergeant Brandon Sholan, Deputy Isaac Wacome, Deputy Jerry Maccione and Lieutenant David Rackliffe with K9 Rebel responded to the Center Hill Lookout parking lot and spent more than two hours searching the area in the dark. They were unable to locate him on or near known trails. The search efforts were called off for the night and the Maine Warden Service was notified.
Early Friday morning the Maine Warden Service mobilized their resources to begin an organized search. Franklin Search and Rescue was also mobilized, and numerous members arrived and began a coordinated area search. Other Maine Search and Rescue members also arrived and joined the search efforts. Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy Austin Couture, Deputy Jerry Maccione, Detective David Davol and Lieutenant David Rackliffe also joined in the search efforts Friday. Late Friday afternoon a Maine Warden Service K9 team located Michael alive but needing medical care. Resources were coordinated to reach the remote area Michael had managed to walk and crawl to. Rescuers, including Deputy Jerry Maccione and Detective David Davol reached him and began making arrangements to extricate him from the woods. Maine Forestry Services responded with a helicopter and air lifted him out to NorthStar EMS staff who had been standing by to render more advanced medical care. This well-coordinated team effort is what led to this incredibly positive outcome. Many hands, many uniforms, one mission. At our last contact, Mr. Altmier was listed in stable condition at Franklin Memorial Hospital
2155hrs, Sgt. Sholan responded to Dutch Gap Road in Chesterville to assist an elderly couple who were lost to find their way home.
2226hrs, Sgt. Sholan received a request to conduct a welfare check on a person at a residence on Taylor Hill Road in Strong. The same residence Deputy Maccione responded to earlier in the day. The person to be checked was located and once again said they were okay. The caller was advised.
2339hrs, Sgt. Sholan received a complaint of a vehicle that was stuck on Dickey Mills Road in Avon. A wrecker was sent to assist.
1126hrs, Sgt. Close investigated a civil issue regarding how to evict someone on West Side Road in Carthage.
07/10/2024 0304hrs, Deputy Brann responded to business alarm at the Strong Historical Society in Strong. This was a false alarm.
1052hrs, Deputy Brann investigated a suspicious person complaint on the Hennessey Road in Industry. This turned out to be an Uber driver waiting on someone.
1109hrs, Deputy Brann assisted York SO with an investigation in Industry.
1431hrs, Deputy Couture received a 911 call at a residence on Bourque Road in Coplin Plt. This was an accidental dial.
1928hrs, Deputy Wacome and Sgt. Sholan responded to a report of a single vehicle accident on East Madrid Road in Madrid. Investigation revealed a blue Ford Explorer was traveling too fast for road conditions and struck a bridge, injuring a passenger. As a result of the investigation Timothy Russo (27) of Freeman Twp. was arrested for OUI and transported to jail.
1941hrs, Deputy Clement received a welfare check request to be conducted at a residence on Church Street in New Vineyard. The person to be checked was located and found to be okay.
2327hrs, Sgt. Sholan assisted Lewiston Police in an attempt to locate a suspect of a domestic violence case in their town that allegedly fled to Phillips area.
07/11/2024 0917hrs, Deputy Couture received a complaint of a vehicle swerving on Route 27 in New Portland. He was able to intercept the vehicle and determined that the driver was not impaired.
1119hrs, Deputy Couture received a complaint from a parent on Campbell Road in Eustis who was having issues with a teenage son.
1253hrs, Sgt. Sholan received a complaint of a van parked off from Route 27 in Kingfield with a dog inside and no one else around. A check of the area revealed that the van was not abandoned, but a campsite with a male living there with his dog. This was also in the town of New Portland, not Kingfield.
1459hrs, Deputy Wacome received a complaint of a dog walking on Highland Drive in Carthage. This turned out to be a bear dog who was wearing a GPS tracking collar.
1724hrs, Deputy Maccione and Sgt. Sholan responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on Bradbury Road in Industry. No charges were filed, verbal only.
1725hrs, Sgt. Sholan received a complaint of ATV’s driving at a high rate of speed on the Shadagee Road in New Sharon.
1821hrs, Det. Davol received a complaint of a possible violation of bail conditions complaint at a residence on Park Street in Phillips.
1830hrs, Deputy Maccione received a complaint of an abandoned vehicle on the Industry Road in Industry.
2053hrs, Deputy Clement investigated a late report of an accident on Route 4 in Sandy River Plt. Nicholas Lawler (24) of Dallas Plt. was driving a 2015 Subaru Forrester southbound on Route 4 when an unknown pickup passed by dropping an unknown object from the bed of the truck into the front of the Subaru causing damage. The second vehicle was not identified.
2137hrs, Sgt. Sholan responded to a parent/child disturbance call on Campbell Road in Eustis involving a teenager. A distant relative called requesting a welfare check on her nephew because he has not been getting along with his mother. This call was in reference to a call received earlier in the day, at the same residence that Deputy Couture responded to. The caller was advised that this was an issue involving immediate family.
2142hrs, Deputy Clement received a complaint of suspicious activity on Bray Hill Road in Phillips.

1054hrs, Deputy Morgan received a complaint of an abandoned motorcycle on Muddy Brook Road in New Sharon.
1233hrs, Deputy Morgan received a compliant of vehicle being parked in a bad location on the Industry Road in Industry.
1308hrs, Deputy Morgan received a complaint of two motorcycles speeding up and down Cummings Hill Road in Temple.
1427hrs, Deputy Gray assisted a driver of a disabled deliver vehicle on Route 4 in Phillips.
1649hrs, Deputy Wacome responded to a disturbance call originating from a car on Lexington Road in Kingfield where the mother called in on her teenage son whom she is having issues with. This is an ongoing issue; the son was transported to FMH for evaluation.
1801hrs, Deputy Frost responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Hennessey Road in Industry. The male and female parties involved are not in a relationship, however, share the same residence. The disturbance was verbal only.
