AUBURN – Mabel N. Soucy, 86, a resident of Livermore Falls, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, at Andwell Hospice House in Auburn, with her loving family by her side. She was born Dec. 27, 1937, in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Harrison and Clara (Robinson) Nichols. She attended Livermore Falls High School.
Mabel married Everard W. Grant in 1954, he died while serving his country on May 8, 1958, Mabel was engaged to Carmen “Don” Greenleaf, before they could marry, he passed away from leukemia in 1963. She later married Harold R. Greenleaf in 1972 and he passed away on March 2, 1980. In June of 1985, she married Gerard “Gerry” Soucy. They enjoyed 12 years together before he passed away in 1997.
Through the years Mabel worked at the local shoe shops, Dunkin Donuts and Mardens. Mabel loved going to the V.F.W in Jay, where they would get together and sing and dance, also going to the Pelletier’s annual picking party in Fayette and was a member of Pine Cone Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her children, Linda Wing and husband Christopher of Livermore Falls, Bruce Grant of Livermore Falls, Candy Grant Bissonnette of Lewiston and Helena Woodhead-Farr and husband David of Livermore Falls, stepchildren, Paul Greenleaf and wife Jeannine of Hebron, Gerry Greenleaf and wife Carolyn of Steep Falls, Tina Roy and husband Bob of Mexico, Pam Paradis of Lewiston, Annette Evans and husband Mark of Brunswick, Lynn Boston and husband Robert of Sabattus, Bill Soucy and wife Tammy of Monmouth, Denise Martineau and husband Blaine of Sabattus and John Soucy and wife Julie of Greene; 35 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 30 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her three husbands; and stepdaughter, Patsy Cummins.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, 1 p.m., August 11 at Jay Hill Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Jay, Maine. Officiated by Fayre Stephenson from the UU Church in Norway, Maine.
