BETHEL — In a July 24 Facebook post, the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce introduced new Executive Director Bobbi Vandenbulcke.

For 17 years, Vandenbulcke worked in NH for the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce serving as its Director of Membership and Partnerships.
Former Executive Director Jessie Perkins and Membership Director John Walker resigned from their positions at Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce in March of 2024.
Vandenbulcke grew up in Barre, VT and had been living on the the New England seacoast since her early twenties. To Bethel, she brings 40-plus years of customer service experience, 20-plus years of Chamber experience.
To the Portmouth Herald, Vandenbulcke called the decision to leave Exeter “bittersweet.”
“For her, the Exeter job was not just about handing out business cards,” wrote Aqeel Hisham of the Portsmouth Herald.
He quoted Vandenbulcke, “It’s about getting to know those people and making sure they feel welcome and trying to make those connections that are going to be valuable to them,” she said. “I never want anybody to be a member of the Chamber and feel like they’re wasting their money. We want members that are going to utilize those benefits – personally and professionally.”
Jennifer Wheeler, president of the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce, said Vandenbulcke has been “an invaluable asset” to the Chamber as well as the community. Although she is sad to see her go, Wheeler said there’s “no doubt” Vandenbulcke will thrive in her new position.
In Bethel, she will focus on engaging members, promoting economic development, and reaching out to the community. She plans to introduce new programs for small businesses, expand networking opportunities, and advocate for local economic policies.
