AUBURN – On Aug. 8, 2024, Edna M. Perry, 88, a resident of Brunswick, passed away peacefully at Andwell Health Hospice House in Auburn, and now rests in the loving arms of Jesus. She was born June 21, 1936, in Lewiston, the daughter of Nelson Robert Morris and Lillian (Damon) Morris.

Edna attended schools in Turner and graduated from Leavitt Institute in 1954. On November 25, 1954, in Turner, she married her true love, George C. Perry, Sr. They were married for a wonderful 64 years until his passing on October 28, 2018.

A longtime resident of Litchfield, she worked at Eddie’s Diner right out of high school, later at Rangeley Heel shoe factory and H.E. Callahan Construction. She was a numbers wiz and kept books for many people over the years. She and her husband were part of owning a few different businesses over the years, including L & P Variety in Turner and Lil’s Deli in Norway. She loved sports of all kinds, participating, watching and coaching. Edna loved to follow the sporting events for her children and grandchildren.

There wasn’t a stock car track in New England that she hadn’t been to. She loved fairs, music gatherings and amusement parks and good parties.

Edna helped with the youth group at the First Universalist Church in Turner.

She and George joined the East Auburn Baptist Church in the 1980’s, and they were very active within the church for many years. She continued to join services online whenever she could.

Edna was predeceased by her parents, her stepfather, Floyd Fish, her loving husband, her brothers, Raymond, Robert, and Ronnie Morris. She is survived by her son, George Perry, Jr. and his companion Carol Barrington of Brunswick, daughters, Becky Sue Perry, Cyncelia Faye Perry, and a special family friend Virginia McAlister all of Poland; four grandsons, Justin, Jacoby, Jeremy and Jesse’ nine great-grandchildren; her sisters, Rebecca Lavoie of Turner, Norma Levasseur of Benicia, Calif., Sonia Plourde of Hallowell; her sweet dog, Precious; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved her very much, but she left this world, loving them more.

Space does not allow mentioning the many people she lovingly and generously helped along the way, and to those who helped her. The family would like to thank the Emergency Dept. and T3 Staff at Central Maine Medical Center and the caregivers at Andwell Health Hospice House. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Litchfield Plains Cemetery, Plains Road, Litchfield, Maine.
