LIVERMORE FALLS —The Treat Memorial Library wrapped up its summer reading program with a lively finale, bringing together community members of all ages for a night of celebration and fun. The event featured colorful decorations, a variety of snacks and drinks, and an array of engaging activities, including a spirited game of bingo.

The night began with a brief ceremony where each participant was presented with a goody bag containing a coupon from Berry Fruit Farm for a free donut and a voucher for the library’s bookstore. Those who turned in their reading logs were also entered into a drawing for a basket, with separate prizes for kids, teens, and adults.

This year’s summer reading program saw participation from 31 individuals. The festivities began with attendees submitting their reading logs, which were exchanged for prizes such as slime, clay, stickers, and fidget spinners.

The event then transitioned to bingo, where Knapp called out endangered species images as participants marked their cards. Winners were allowed to choose from a selection of prizes, and the game continued until someone covered their entire bingo card.

A heartfelt moment occurred when participant Phoebe Pike presented thank you cards and gifts to the library staff, including Library Director Brianna Rush, Assistant Director Alana Knapp, and another staff member Elle Rosenbaum. Pike expressed her gratitude for the staff’s dedication and the hard work they put into programs like the summer reading initiative. The staff was visibly moved by the gesture.

The library has planned a makeup event for next week, where participants will create crafts from mystery items. Additionally, a raffle will be held for each age group, with the next event scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 15, at 6 p.m.
