Mayor Brann is waiting for the aldermen to take action and the aldermen are waiting for their special committee to report, and the committee is waiting for Mayor Brann to recommend, and Lewiston’s much needed grade school is still “in the air.”
50 Years Ago: 1974
The 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Boisvert of 125 Third St., Auburn, was celebrated recently with two days of activities in observance of the happy event.
On Saturday evening members of their family enjoyed dinner and an evening of dancing at the Poland Spring Inn and on Sunday their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Boisvert, entertained the immediate family at their cottage at Lake Auburn.
25 Years Ago: 1999
It may be tomorrow. It could be months away. But sooner or later, refugees will be coming to Lewiston. The director of the refugee program for Catholic Charities of Maine, Sandy Hollett, said Lewiston is close to being ready to handle its first resettled family.
