The Maine Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum will present the United States Navy Band Country Current at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Le Club Calumet in Augusta. This free performance is part of the band’s 2024 national concert tour.
The six-piece active-duty premier Navy ensemble will perform a blend of country and bluegrass music. The group is nationally renowned for its versatility and “eye-popping” musicianship, performing a blend of modern country music and cutting-edge bluegrass. This seven-member ensemble employs musicians from diverse backgrounds with extensive high-profile recording and touring experience in the music scenes of Nashville, New York, New Orleans and more. In the tradition of country music, each member is a skilled performer on multiple instruments. The band has extensive recording and touring experience in Nashville, New York City, New Orleans and Washington, D.C.
